The much-loved Gershwin musical, Crazy For You, was brought to Hull New Theatre by Hessle Theatre Company in March 2024.
The biggest, most joyful musical to hit the stage, 'Crazy For You' is the perfect night out for musical lovers both young and old.
It's 1930s Broadway. Theatre-mad Bobby is sent to Nevada to close an abandoned theatre. Surprise, surprise - he falls instantly in love with no-nonsense Polly and her father's theatre. So...he hatches a plan to win her heart by 'putting on a show' and saving the theatre - disguised as a famous Broadway producer. What could possibly go wrong?
Hold onto your seats for a hilarious mix of tap-dancing Follies girls, stage-struck cowboys and some of the greatest songs written for the stage. Think 'Calamity Jane' meets '42nd Street'!
The glossy show programme for 'Crazy For You' celebrates the first time the show danced into Hull. Containing details of the cast and crew with biographies of our cast, including Ben Bailey as Bobby and Elinor Kirby as Polly. This souvenir brochure includes the history of the writers of the show, the Gershwin brothers, as well as articles from the director and musical director.
